Needlework Hobbies

When not working in my flower garden outside, I also enjoy knitting and crocheting.
I have developed my own raised-flower adaptation of a traditional American granny square.

I also enjoy designing other household items, toys, and clothing.
I love working with colors, the feel of yarns and threads, and doing something
constructive while relaxing.

I treasure my collection antique crochet hooks and knitting needles given to me
by my mother, those I have collected for many years here in the U.S.A,
and those my husband so patiently helps me find in out-of-the-way shops
in other countries as we travel. He has also made some gorgeous wood
crochet hooks for me in his workshop.

Many of my hand made items are now available for purchase here in my store.

In the Kitchen

We love to cook and we love to eat! Each day we are not traveling I make fresh bread using my home grown sourdough starter.
My Cincinnati sourdough has a more conservative flavor than the famous San Francisco sourdough.
Our favorite versions include whole wheat, oats, cheese, onion, garlic.... Ah, yes, it goes on and on. Yum!

While traveling, we make a point to stop at old mills where flour is still ground and sold to the public.
One of those is Mingus Mill in The Great Smoky Mountains. Images taken when we visited Mingus Mill in March, 2005, are here.

My Honey and His Woodworking

July 14, 2006
Here we see Kjell with our Grandson, David.
They are making "David's Fly-In Restaurant" bird feeder in Grandpa's workshop.
That's me behind the camera.  :))
