Hello Everyone,
There has been a structure change on this site to make it easier to access more information. The former Cruise Reviews and Port Reports page has been separated into two pages: Cruise Reviews and Ports of Call.
Enjoy!

I am crusing the Mexican Riviera on June 8, 2008 and have been reading some postings about the ship and the service on board. I am now getting worried that I made the wrong choice booking with RCI. Many say the ship smells of old rags, the service is poor in the dining room and the food in the Windjammer is awful. Anyone cruise on this ship lately? Any thoughts?
Hello Bob,
My only comment to such reviews is to take them with a HUGE grain of salt. Be sure you read many, many reviews and you'll find the vast majority found Vision of the Seas to be a gorgeous ship with a great crew and great food.
Years of cruising experience have shown me that people who go on board to have a good time do have a good time; those who don't, don't.
Have a great cruise aboard Vision of the Seas.
Best,
Lois

Subject: Southern Caribbean cruise in August
My only concern is the weather in August. I don't want my itinerary changed because of a hurricane or tropical storm. Should I go or choose another destination?
Hi Arlene,
The weather is the main thing that we humans cruising around on the high seas just can't control. Itinerary changes are, of course, a possibility on any cruise, but more possible during seasons when weather is traditionally stormy. A few years ago we had a number of hurricanes, but last year was very quiet.
My feeling is to "go for it" and take the cruise you want to take. Safety is the most important concern so changes are sometimes necessary. If for some reason your itinerary is changed, look at it as an adventure and opportunity to see and do something different.
You may enjoy seeing pictures of Avoiding Hurricane Frances. That adventure turned out to be fantantastic!
Perhaps some of our other experienced cruisers can write and share their ideas, too.
Have a grand time!
Lois
