For a quick getaway ... especially for first time cruisers .. this is a perfect tester cruise.

This was a last minute trip arranged by my wife thanks to Nancy at Ship Shop Cruises (561-626-6200). As my oldest 16 son was taking an AP Course in the Northeast it made it easy to get one cabin for the four of us. She arranged for us to have a handicap room that was released. To our surprise the room was HUGE. More like a Suite. If you can arrange it, take it.

We are Platinum members of the Crown and Anchor which usually makes boarding easier however this was the first time we left from Port Everglades. It was not as well appointed as Miami and you really felt like you were leaving from a port not a cruise terminal. As we only live an hour up the road we arrived at the ship by 3:00 PM. We have gotten accustomed to the Voyager Class and thought we'd be disappoint with the Enhancement, but as usual thanks to Royal Caribbean, the ship was well appointed, clean and the staff was  ... THE BEST.

As it was a 4 night cruise they really went out of their way to make us feel a home. Matt Baker was the best Cruise Director ... PERIOD.  What a sense of humor (or humour as he would spell it).  What an asset for RCCL.

Our 9 year old daughter who is an Adventure Ocean expert said the staff wasn't that friendly but she managed to collect enough tickets for her desired prizes. My 14 year old son made friends instantly and had a blast.

Key West is a great for T shirts and bars but since you arrive there at 8:00 AM and leave at 1:30 PM .. not too much to do. We made it to Carlos and Charlies this time and was worth the effort to get off the ship.My son picked up a nice acoustic guitar in Cozumel which seemed priced right.

The shows were great, especially Beatlemania. Everyone was up and dancing in the aisles.

The food was consistent and the service friendly. We sat with another family from Florida who we enjoyed immensely. I like to have breakfast in the dining to meet other people.

The gym was small but for 4 days .. who cares. The Casino was filled with amateurs but the staff was very patient and friendly. We bought a horse at the horse auction and WON almost $1,000.

You'll have a blast and 4 days will feel like a week until you get home.

Cruise reviews can be extremely helpful to new and experienced cruisers by giving the cruise vacation consumer's view of various RCCL ships and ports. If you've sailed aboard an RCCL ship, we hope you'll write and tell us about it by using our special form here.  Sincere thanks to those who take the time to do this so that others can have the benefit of shared information and experiences.
