Having had a fantastic holiday on Majesty of the Seas some years ago, I naturally expected the same high standard on Splendour. I have to say this was without doubt the most disappointing holiday I have ever had.

The 16 day itinerary was changed as we set to sea, apparently due to weather conditions. This was untrue as we were aware of people joining the ship in Miami, which was a port we were not due to call at.

We were six and a half days at sea in very turbulent weather which made my partner and I (along with many others) sea sick. I knocked the shower head off trying to steady myself during the bad weather, and broke my toe.

On arrival in our cabin our clothes were wet inside our case.

When we finally got to Miami, we didn't get off the ship until 3.30pm and had to be back on again at 7.30pm. Not much time at all considering we had been so long at sea.

Our pre-paid vouchers for tips never arrived, therefore, we had to pay crew ourselves.

The ship was just out of dry dock and the crew were still doing repairs as we sailed. The rock wall and the golf course were unusable, as was the upper deck used for walking. Carpets were being replaced on parts of the ship also.

The great variation in price of the cruise didn't help matters, and maybe on this occasion we were just unlucky all round.

Thankfully, the food was fantastic and the staff were excellent.

Hopefully, we will cruise again, but not for a very long time.

Bon Voyage

Janice
