My significant other treated us to a 5-day bahama cruise out of Orlando. We booked our reservations thru Travelocity.  This was my first cruise experience and I was truly excited and looking forward to spending the time aboard the ship I have heard so much about.  We were planning on spending some extra time in Florida, so this was perfect. We arrived at around 2:00 pm and were processed in less than 1/2 hour. From the moment we arrived on the ship until we left we were treated like royalty.  Our bags arrived in a timely fashion.  We had booked a King suite with balcony, but when we arrived we found that there were no balcony suites on the Sovereign.  We were a little disappointed, but the huge, oceanview window was not bad.  We also discovered that our refrigerator did not work and asked for a replacement. Unfortunately, since the ship was booked to capacity they could not replace ours with a working one.  Another disappointment, but we did not let any of those mishaps spoil our time.

There was plenty of activities scheduled.  Our dining waiter, Budi was very attentive and gracious.  The cruise director, Nikki, did a fantastic job.  The shows were sensational and the singing was fabulous.  The crew was attentive and took care of this ship.  We had over 2,000 people aboard (as announced by the Captain). The food was good.  Since I only eat fish, chicken and vegetables, I found that there was a pretty decent variety.  Two things we looked for that was not available were Colossal shrimp and whole lobster or tails.

We did quite a bit on the different islands - snorkeling, sailing, jet skiing, swimming on the beaches and gambling and had a fantastic time.  We would definitely book our next cruise with Royal, but this time try a different ship.  The Sovereign was older but it was still wonderful.  We would just want something a bit more modern.  Royal Caribbean really knows how to treat its passengers. I can't wait for my next cruise adventure!!

Cruise reviews can be extremely helpful to new and experienced cruisers by giving the cruise vacation consumer's view of various RCCL ships and ports. If you've sailed aboard an RCCL ship, we hope you'll write and tell us about it by using our special form here.  Sincere thanks to those who take the time to do this so that others can have the benefit of shared information and experiences.
