Wow! What a trip! There were 4 of us. 3 had cruised before and this was my first, so I have nothing to compare to. However this was a wonderful vacation. We stayed at Quaily Suites and parked at the Raddison. When we got up on Sunday morning and looked out our window we could see that magnificant ship (yes, Capt. Johnny, I said ship and not "boat"!) in port. We had to be at least 3-5 miles away. Our shuttle from the Raddison to Port Canaveral was very smooth. By accident we went to the Raddison between 10:30 and 11 am. I'm glad we did. We were onboard the ship by about 12:30. First thing we did was to find our room. We had an oceanview and it was perfect. We then set out to have a bite of lunch and check out the ship. By the time we had our "drill", our luggage was in our room, so we unpacked. There was so much storage space. We were on deck when a couple other cruise ships were leaving port. That was exciting.

We had to cancel our day at Coco Cay. The seas were too rough to tender us in. That was disappointing, but Capt. Johnnie took us to Nassau for the afternoon. We had a really good time.

I can't say enough about the Mariner staff. Jose Duron, our waiter in the dining room was the best. There was no chocolate desert on the first night and to make up for it, Jose made it a special point to bring me "2" chocolate deserts every night. He made our dining so special and we looked forward to seeing him everynight. The cabin steward, was great also. He kept our room very neat. I swear he was in there everytime we left. I would love to know where those guys hide and how they know when we are out of the room! The "towel animals" were precious. We have pictures of every one of them.

The entertainment was fabulous. The skaters were wonderful. I was amazed that the skaters could stay on their skates when I could feel the ship rocking. The cruise director, Curt Detweiler is so full of energy, you can't help but to get caught up in everything.

We really have nothing bad to say about our trip. Everything was great. We would recommed this ship to anyone. We hope to take the Eastern Caribbean trip one day, and hope that Capt. Johnny will be there to take us. He is truly a personable man. Very friendly. Sometime a bit too cheerful early in the morning...not really. We looked forward to his "good morning" announcements.

This was truly a great vacation, thanks to all the staff of The Mariner of the Seas. We hope everyone that takes this ship, returns with all the many wonderful memories that we have.

Cruise reviews can be extremely helpful to new and experienced cruisers by giving the cruise vacation consumer's view of various RCCL ships and ports. If you've sailed aboard an RCCL ship, we hope you'll write and tell us about it by using our special form here.  Sincere thanks to those who take the time to do this so that others can have the benefit of shared information and experiences.
